Income Report Roundup – October 2015

One of the most popular posts I publish are my income reports.

So I decided to round up as many income reports as possible and rank them based on earnings to see how I stack up against the rest.

If you publish an income report on your blog and would like it included in next month’s post then please let me know in the comments!

Here we go-

#1) PinchOfYum.com – $33,360.82 (+$4,307.38)

Lindsay & Bjork are keeping the income report short and sweet this month as they focus on other exciting projects behind the scenes.

They focused a lot of their attention in September on creating their new free eBook. It’s full of simple and practical advice from more than 30 top food bloggers!

#2) MakingSenseOfCents.com – $28,830.00 (+$6,738.00)

Michelle spent most of September with friends and family and didn’t get much work done. Having worked ahead though, she still had a great month!

She had fun attending FinCon and won a Plutus award for Best Personal Finance Blog For Millennials.

She’s still seeing the majority of referral traffic coming through Pinterest and her goals going forward include promoting more, creating a book and accepting more interviews.

#3) MatthewWoodward.co.uk – $24,209.62 (+$739.46)

The blog officially crossed the $500,000 mark in total earnings this month!

I invested the majority of my time into finishing off my first premium course and added some new exclusive internet marketing deals to the site.

I had a major fail with an InfoLinks case study experiment and a successful experiment with the Welcome Mat plugin – it’s good to be always learning and experimenting.

A 5 month old hard disk drive also failed on me, just a reminder to make sure you always have everything backed up!

#4) AuthorityWebsiteIncome.com – $18,351.00 (-$9,566.00)

Jon made the most of the family being away for a couple of weeks in September by putting more time into his online business and getting back into the habit of working hard every night.

His key failures this month were in expense control and allowing his email optins to remain under-optimised for yet another month.

That said, his Six Figure Challenge site is starting to make money and he is ahead of his goal to have 18 sites purchased by August 2015.

He’s excited to say that his primary goal of creating a stand alone systematised services business is within reach!

#5) JustAGirlAndHerBlog.com – $15,583.00 (+$635.00)

Abby has been experimenting with new forms and landing pages on the blog this month.

She’s getting ahead by creating her business plan for 2016 a few months early and reminds us that there’s nothing quite like putting pen to paper when it comes to your initial plan.

She’s also excited to start work on her next product which she says could be one of her most requested items!

#6) TrueValhalla.com – $6,765.00 (+$5,328.00)

Matt published the new version of his book Making Money With HTML5 in September and the updated version has sold twice as well as usual!

He’s been busy working on a secret project that he plans to announce before the year is out and has started to pick up the pace ready for the Halloween and Christmas demand for HTML5 games.

He dropped a problem client this month after deciding that it was too time consuming and unprofitable and has begun to spend his time more wisely elsewhere.

#7) MyTanFeet.com – $5,600.11 (-$414.91)

Low season affected Yeison & Samantha’s sales this month with a drop of more than 50% in commissions for September. That said, bookings are already flowing for December and January!

The guys are excited to announce that MyTanFeet will soon be an official business in Costa Rica and they have begun the process of trade marking their logo and name.

They spoke at TBEX Asia in Thailand about How to Create an Affiliate System in Your Travel Niche, experienced a malware problem that they cleared up with Securi and Samantha has started writing her eBook which she aims to finish by December!

#8) DigitalNomadWannabe.com – $5,130.00 (+$358.00)

digitalnomadSharon finally hit the $5,000 mark this month while travelling Europe and is reporting her best month for earnings so far!

She switched from TBEX North America to Asia, speaking at Bankok instead to save herself 30+ hours of travel and gave a talk about making money with affiliate marketing using SEO.

Happy to be home at last she reflects on the difficulties of being a full time travelling and working parent and says that 4 months was definitely too long to be on the road.

#9) Untemplater.com – $3,010.00 (-$1,042.00)

untemplaterSydney found September a bit of a challenge due to spending a lot of time on the road and trying to change her habits from night owl to early bird.

This month saw her concerned by a plummet in traffic for reasons she’s not sure of and although traffic has returned since the dip it’s left her nervous of Google’s algorithm changes.

She’s excited to have signed a statement of work with a new client and was pleasantly surprised to see a small amount of growth in her amazon sales.

#10) MissBiziBee.com – $2,700.02 (-$19.98)

bizziIt’s been a bittersweet month for Kaitlin as September saw her set new revenue records for Etsy and Amazon but also expenses!

That meant that despite the great month for income, she made almost the same as last month.

Expenses for this month were up 108% but this bulk order means expenses should be lower for a while. Organic traffic is now the biggest driver of new visits to the site and she is welcoming the holiday spending season.

She’s pleased to say that her Etsy shop is getting ever busier and she’s seeing more requests for new, custom products all the time.

#11) DumbPassiveIncome.com – $1,318.54 (+$621.66)

September has been a fairly good month for Matt with a slight increase in income and slowly decreasing expenses.

He has decided to completely drop all other projects and focus on only one website until he is satisfied with the results and income, this also means a shorter income report focusing solely on the most important metrics.

His plan going forward is to maintain this low level of expenses to achieve an increased overall net income.

#12) OneHourProfessor.com – $387.70 (-$581.00)

ohpRon has been investing both time and money into his projects in September and a lot of that time was spent focusing on his new course which he’s really excited about.

Although revenue was steady this month his expenses were high meaning a lower total for September, but he says these investments will pay off in the near future.

He reached his goal of creating a dedicated course area on OneHourProfessor and smashed his target for starting his new course managing to get 70% of the way through it already!

#13) IncomeMesh.com – $327.70 (-$99.96)

incomemeshThe new design for IncomeMesh that Drazen has been working on through most of September is now finished and although his profit was lower he puts this down to a lot of expenses.

He’s happy to see a lower bounce rate and longer session durations this month and is hoping to see them improve further in October, while a change of hosting provider means he is now in the process of moving all his other sites there.

He also learnt that blog commenting for traffic can be effective and going forward hopes to improve his social traffic as he reflects that this is still a weak point.

#14) MyPathToPassiveIncome.com – $34.82 (+$12.32)

mypathtopassiveincomeLast month’s newcomer Esteban is still working hard with his fourth income report showing another best month so far.

He managed to increase pageviews from around 20 – 30 per day to 100 – 200 in just a few days and had almost 300 more sessions and 200 more users than last month.

He’s excited to see growth both on the site and on facebook but reached only 1 out of 6 of his targets for the month. The figures may be small but it’s growing steadily.

In Summary

For the first time in a while we’ve had no newcomers to the list although we have had a couple of dropouts who for one reason or another have decided not to continue with their income reports.

The total this month has taken another slight drop of $297.23 to $145,608.33 and that may be on the verge of a huge jump as some of our newcomers start to grow and the seasonal shopping begins to pick up!

September has seen some great progress for a lot of the sites listed and although many of them had particularly good months for income there seems to be a lot of bulk spending and investment going on.

The plus side of that is that expenses will be lower going forward into the holiday spending season so it will be great to see how that affects overall profit going forward!

If you feel inspired to start your own blog then why don’t you start a blog now? It only takes a few minutes!

Performance Tracking

I only include the earnings history of the top 10 blogs each month to make the graphs easy to read.

I’m having a problem with the graph right now and will update the post when fixed
