Report: Google Local Service Ads Showing Ads More Evenly

Google is reportedly showing its Local Service Ads more evenly. This means that previously, the same advertiser would often show up in the LSA spots in the Google Search results and remain there, but now it seems Google is bringing in a more diverse set of advertisers.

Google Again Says Schema Does Not Make Your Site Rank Better

Google once again said that adding schema or structured data markup to your pages will not result in those pages ranking better in Google Search. Danny Sullivan, the Google Search Liaison, said this on X, "using schema doesn't give you a ranking boost," adding, "Schema doesn't make you rank better." He even said that "Schema has nothing to do with rankings."

Google Ads To Enforce Certified Click Tracker Policies Soon

A few months ago we reported that Google Ads may disapprove some ads for using third-party click-tracking services that are not on their approved list. Google updated us and now is telling us that "full enforcement will continue to roll out over the next 12 to 18 months" around this policy. Google said advertisers are "required to use a certified click tracker or their ads may be disapproved."

Confirmed: Google Tests Ads Mixed Within Free Search Results

Google is testing showing ads within the organic (free) search results. Generally, Google would show the ads at the top of each page set, even within the continuous scroll interface. But now Google has confirmed it is experimenting with showing these ads in additional spots within the search results listings.

Google Ad Revenue Up 9.5% & Bing Ads Revenue Up 10%

Both Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising revenue were up big this past quarter, both up about 10%. Comparing it to last quarter, Google was only up 3% and Microsoft was up 8%. The previous quarters before that were much worse. So it seems like things are looking up on the ad revenue side.

Google Search Tests Links On Product Images

Google is testing having links overlay, like watermarks, on product result images. I can replicate this on some browsers, not all, so it looks like a test where Google can see if searchers are clicking on the link within the image or not.

Google: Even High Quality Pages Can Still Not Be Indexed By Google Search

Generally, Google has said that when pages are not indexed and there are no technical issues, the reason it might not be indexed is that the page does not meet the quality marks to be included in the Google Search index. But John Mueller of Google said even high-quality pages aren't guaranteed indexing.
